The board of Mediterranean aquaculture company Andromeda Seafood Group has announced the appointment of Alex Myers as CEO.
Myer’s 35-year international business career includes senior positions with multinational companies such as Carlsberg, Unilever, Getinge Group, and Hilding Anders. He will take up the role with Andromeda in November.
Andromeda, which mainly produces seabass, seabream, and corvina, is currently awaiting merger control approvals for its proposed integration with Nireus SA and Selonda SA. The transaction includes the participation of AMERRA Capital Management LLC (Andromeda’s current owners) and Mubadala Investment Company as shareholders in the combined business.
“I am honored and very motivated to be joining at such an exciting inflection point for the group,” said Myers. “Three companies joining forces to create an even stronger platform for growth, even better partnerships with our customers and a healthier Mediterranean diet for our consumers. I look forward to working together as a team on this transformational journey.”
“We are excited to have Alex join our senior executive team at this important stage in our company’s development to help shape its future,” Thor Talseth, chairman of Andromeda Seafood, said. “He has a proven track record in business transformation projects, understands the importance of focusing on customer needs and production efficiencies, and knows how to build high-performance teams.”
