Edward O’Donnell hired as Baja Aqua Farms’ director of global sales and marketing

Edward O’Donnell has been hired as Baja Aqua Farms’ director of global sales and marketing.

Baja Aqua Farms, founded in 2000, is a rancher of Pacific bluefin tuna based in Ensenada, Mexico, with ranches along the coast of Mexico’s Baja Peninsula.

In his new role, O’Donnell will oversee branding, marketing, and sales of the company’s Bluefina brand of premium, wild-caught, ranched-raised tuna, he told SeafoodSource in an email. The company exports its core product – fresh and frozen sashimi-grade tuna – to foodservice and retail customers around the world.

Previously, O’Donnell worked as the director of marketing at Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, U.S.A.-based Samuels and Son Seafood from 2012 until August 2021. At Samuels and Son, O’Donnell developed a marketing and communication strategy for the company, which grew to have more than USD 500 million (EUR 439.1 million) in revenue.

Prior to his time at Samuels and Son, O’Donnell was the director of marketing at architectural hardware firm Von Morris Corporation and the marketing director for Legend Properties, a commercial real estate firm.
