After a Canadian importer recalled QQ brand fish balls in mid-August, a separate U.S. importer is also recalling QQ fish balls and fish cakes in the United States.
Great One Trading recalled certain lots of QQ brand Mushroom Fish Balls and Tofu Style Fried Fish Cake products due to undeclared egg on the label.
“The recall was initiated after it was discovered that the product containing egg was not revealed on the packaging. Subsequent investigation indicates the problem was caused by a mislabeling error by the manufacturer,” Great One Trading said in a press release posted on the United States Food and Drug Administration’s (FDA) website.
The recalled products were distributed to retailers in Massachusetts, Pennsylvania, and Connecticut.
Similarly, TLW Trading Ltd. recalled the QQ Fish brand Mushroom Fish Ball earlier this month due to undeclared egg. The recalled product, which has an expiration date of 25 November, 2020, was distributed to retailers in Alberta, British Columbia, and Quebec.
U.S. consumers who have purchased the products are urged to return it to the place of purchase for a full refund, Great One Trading said. Consumers with questions can contact the company at 718-788-6618 or email: [email protected].
