In the previous Ecuador sourcing update, Shrimptails reported on the country’s increase in exports and production, the continuous low levels of farm gate and export prices, and the concern for prices potentially decreasing even more.
Now, while exports continue to show stable growth, Ecuadorian export prices have been making a slight recovery from May onwards. Based on the past few months, the production growth is on track to reach an increase of 20-25 percent, culminating at a number of over 620,000 metric tons by the end of 2019.
Ecuador’s future is looking bright.
