Marel Inc. and Fusion Marine Technology Inc. have announced a partnership giving exclusive service in the commercial fishing marine industry.
Gardabaer, Iceland-headquartered Marel and Seattle, Washington, U.S.A.-based Fusion Marine Technology (not to be confused with Fusion Marine Ltd., which was acquired by Gael Force in 2018) will see Fusion Marine Technology providing services for Marel’s marine scales and graders onboard vessels in North America. Fusion Marine Technology is a marine electrical and electronics specialist, providing service for vessels based mainly in the Pacific Northwest and Alaska.
The partnership will allow Marel’s customers in North America to have access to more support for marine scales and graders onboard vessels. The new agreement, according to Marel, also includes things like “repair shop activities, service contracts, OEM spare parts from Marel Inc., and product training for newly-installed products.”
“As the world’s largest and most innovative producer of advanced processing equipment it is imperative to support the equipment in a manner that allows the processor to utilize the full potential of the machinery, and realize the full value their purchase,” Marel President of the North American Region Einar Einarsson said. “Partnering with Fusion Marine Technology provides a unique opportunity to raise the level of service and support for this market segment.”
The new partnership will “provide a greater level of service” for Marel customers, the company stated.
