A plug for Alaska seafood overseas

The Alaska Seafood Marketing Institute (ASMI) just finished a promotional program for its seafood in China.

The program, which ran from 22 May to 19 June, focused on five major retail stores in Tianjin, which is near Beijing. The stores included Aeon, BLT, Hisense, Ole’ (Henglong Outlet) and Lotte No. 1 Department Store.

The promotion included Alaska black cod, Pacific cod, sockeye salmon and yellowfin sole, with in-store promoters offering samples, recipe leaflets and small gifts.

ASMI China ran the promotion hoping to reproduce the success of last year’s event, also held in Tianjin. ASMI Chine expected to sell more than 7000 kg of Alaska seafood during the promotion.
