The Alaska Seafood Marketing Institute on Thursday announced the launch of its Cook it Frozen! iPhone application.
The app is designed for home cooks of all experience levels to prepare heart-healthy frozen seafood, without thawing it first.
Cook it Frozen! allows consumers to search more than 100 recipes for cooking frozen Alaska salmon, halibut, cod, pollock, sole or crab; watch how-to videos to master cooking frozen seafood by method, including grilling, broiling, roasting, steaming, poaching, sautéing or pan-searing; e-mail recipes and cooking instructions; build a grocery list and then check off ingredients; and learn about Alaska's sustainable fisheries management system and seafood's nutritional benefits.
Consumers can download Cook it Frozen! for free, and, for those without an iPhone, the app's features are available at cookitfrozen.com.
