Lobster prices have been as high as AUD 92 per kilogram, in the lead-up to Christmas.
The catch is down in southeast South Australia, with some fishers reporting that the season is running later than normal.
Seafood exporter Andrew Laurie, from Robe, says lobsters have been difficult to catch as they are in hiding, to shed their shells.
