Cold weather gear boosted as Pronomar announces collaboration with Cold Tex

Pronomar, a Dutch equipment company, has announced a new collaboration with Cold Tex that will help it optimize the design of insulating and cold-resistant workwear.

Their collaboration is focused on equipment specifically designed for working conditions in cold storage facilities. Its new offerings aid in the quicker elimination of condensation caused by temperature difference between the place where employees change into their protective clothing and the cold storage facility.

The companies originally came together to work on a recent project designing a clothing and equipment system for the cold storage facility of Parlevliet & van der Plas, a Dutch fishing and seafood processing company with more than 1,500 employees. Specifically, they overhauled the facility’s change room with new drying systems that warmed clothes and restored them to usable condition.

“Together with Pronomar we came up with a solution and now they have the drying systems on site. We have seen for ourselves that [employees] do not only dry their jackets, trousers, boots and gloves on the systems, but even their socks!” Cold Tex managing director Arjo van Tuijl said.

Jiska Bazuin, Pronomar’s operations manager, said her company hoped to continue to collaborate with Cold Tex to overhaul other cold storage facilities.

“We value the collaboration with Cold Tex and feel that our backgrounds match very well with high-quality products, focused on making the end-users comfortable and ultimately, happy. Therefore we look forward to continuing on this road together with Cold Tex and help many more cold stores which are facing the same issues.” Bazuin said.
