Copeinca reports strong 4Q

Peruvian fishmeal and fish oil producer Copeinca reported strong growth in the fourth quarter for 2010, successfully catching its entire quota and processing 15.6 percent of total catch.

Revenues for the company increased 7.9 percent to USD 53.2 million (EUR 30.4 million) compared to USD 49.3 million (EUR 36.5 million) in the fourth quarter of 2012.

EBITDA for the quarter jumped 115.4 percent to USD 16.8 million (EUR 12.4 million) compared to USD 7.8 million (5.8 million) during the same time period in 2012.

Revenue per ton for the year increased 16.8 percent to USD 1,663 (EUR 1,232) per metric ton (MT) from USD 1,424 (EUR 1,055) per MT in 2012. This included revenue of USD 4.5 million (EUR 3.34 million) from the sale of mackerel and jack mackerel compared to revenue of USD 4.3 million (EUR 3.2 million) in 2012. Revenue per MT in the fourth quarter of 2013 decreased 3.3 percent to USD 1,498 (EUR 1,110) per MT from USD 1,549 (EUR 1,148) per MT during the same time period in 2012.
