Gorton’s sweepstakes touts twice-a-week

Gorton’s Seafood on Tuesday announced the launch of its Seafood Lover’s Sweepstakes to inspire consumers to eat seafood twice a week, as recommended by the U.S. Department of Agriculture as part of the 2010 Dietary Guidelines for Americans.

Consumers are invited to submit entries of travel-themed seafood recipes through 12 April when then winner will be determined through online voting. The grand prize winner will receive a trip to one of six destinations, including Gloucester, Mass., Key West, Fla., Las Vegas, the Caribbean, the Greek Isles or Italy.

“Gorton’s makes it easy and delicious to enjoy seafood twice a week and meet the USDA guidelines recommendation,” said Zach Soolman, Gorton’s director of marketing. “Now, our travel-themed seafood recipes offer our consumers a delicious culinary ‘trip around the world’ that we hope inspires home chefs to try new recipes and add more seafood to their diets.”
