Grieg CEO resigns

Norwegian seafood company Grieg Seafood has announced its CEO, Morten Vike, is resigning, effective immediately.

The announcement, consisting of a short statement on the company’s website, did not indicate why Vike is resigning, but said Per Grieg Jr., chairman of the company’s board of directors, will serve as interim CEO until a successor is named. Grieg CFO Atle Harald Sandtorv will serve as interim managing director.

Vike has served as CEO for the past six years at the company. Among his achievements, Grieg cited Vike’s establishing of salmon distributor Ocean Quality.

“The board would like to thank Morten Vike for his efforts during these years, and wish him luck in his future career,” Grieg’s statement read.
