Marel, Nutreco make staff changes

Marel Food Systems announced today Theo Hoen has been named CEO

Hoen has nearly 25 years of experience in the seafood industry, most recently serving as CEO of Stork Food Systems, which food processing equipment company Marel acquired last year.
 
Sigsteinn Grétarsson, managing director of Marel ehf., will join Hoen and CFO Erik Kaman as a member of the management board.
 
Grétarsson joined Marel in 1997 as a sales manager before becoming managing director of the company's Australia operation for four years and then head of business development during the Stork acquisition.

Hörður Arnarson has resigned his position as CEO of Marel. Arnarson held the post for 10 years. He joined the company in 1985, previously serving as head of R&D and production. Director of Sales Lárus Ásgeirsson, who joined the company in 1987, has also stepped down.
 
Animal nutrition and fish feed company Nutreco today announced COO Juergen Steinemann has resigned, effective 30 June.
 
Steinemann joined the Netherlands–based company in October 2001 and was responsible for the agriculture business. His responsibilities will be shared between two executives.
