Marine Harvest sells off Cermaq shares

Following the expiration of its buyout offer, Norwegian seafood farmer Marine Harvest has sold more than 3 million shares in rival Cermaq, at an average price of NOK 105.33 (USD 17, EUR 13) per share.

Marine Harvest announced the share sale today, within hours of announcing the offer to buy a controlling interest in Cermaq shares had expired. Marine Harvest said as a result, it would be selling off most of the Cermaq shares it already had.

After the sale, Marine Harvest still held 1,706,604 shares in Cermaq.
