Mazzetta, NFWF partner to help Maine herring

The National Fish and Wildlife Foundation (NFWF) today announced Anthony Chatwin, director of marine and coastal conservation, and Greg Griffith, director of corporate relations, are attending next week's International Boston Seafood Show.

Chatwin and Griffith will be available to discuss NFWF's Marine Sustainability Initiative, sponsored in part by Illinois-based seafood supplier Mazzetta Co. From 1 to 2 p.m., Sunday 15 March they will be at Mazzetta booth No. 533.

The NFWF's initiative aims to maintain the sustainability of the marine ecosystem by focusing on the building blocks, such as coral reefs, oyster reefs and forage fish. Mazzetta's support will target recovery of river herring populations in Maine and throughout the Northeast.

"We are very happy that Mazzetta Co. has become the first corporate partner in this initiative," said Chatwin. "We hope that their leadership in supporting marine sustainability will be helpful in engaging the broader seafood industry in these important conservation initiatives."
