Namibia sets TAC for hake, rock lobster

The Namibian cabinet has set the total allowable catch (TAC) for hake at 140,000 metric tons for the remainder of the 2015/2016 financial year.

This according to the Ministry of Information and Communication Technology, which also reported that the country plans on harvesting 3,446 metric tons of crab from January 2016 until December that same year. Moreover, Namibia will harvest 335,000 metric tons of horse mackerel for the same seasonal timespan in 2016.

Rock lobster TAC for the nation has been set at 250 metric tons; the season for lobster will run from 1 November 2015 to April 2016, noted The Namibian.
