National Fisheries Institute launches advocacy and information website

The National Fisheries Institute (NFI), the U.S. seafood trade association, has launched a new website, which will host information on the organization and its opinions on key issues for the industry.

The new website, www.AboutSeafood.com, has improved functionality and additional content, according to Lynsee Fowler, NFI’s communications manager.

“The website landscape has changed dramatically in just the past few years. Visitors want the latest content in one or two clicks. They want video, opinion, images and information all in one place. That’s what the new AboutSeafood.com provides,” Fowler said.

Among other features, the site will offer updates in seafood science and enhancements or rebuttals to public and journalistic reports, in an effort to improve awareness of important policy and regulatory issues facing the seafood community, the NFI said in a press release.

“The new site represents an evolution in content delivery,” Fowler said. “Visitors looking of the latest in health, safety, sustainability, trade, and consumer protection will find it only a click or two away.”

The site is designed to scale to mobile devices quickly and efficiently and will provide live-streaming social media updates, a guide to trending seafood topics and video content. The NFI will also continue to broadcast its news via Twitter and Facebook, it said.
