New tuna freezer vessel delivered from Spanish shipyard

Zamakona Shipyard of Spain delivered Guria, a new tuna freezer vessel, to Bermean company Nicra-7 on 12 December following an inaugural ceremony on Bizkaia dock, near to the Port of Bilbao.

The vessel measures in at 81 meters in length and can cruise at a speed of 16 knots thanks to a 5,440 horsepower engine. Moreover, the new tuna seiner can accommodate a crew of up to 27 mariners, and boasts a fishing capacity of up to 1,703 cubic meters.

Guria will fish the waters of the Atlantic Ocean, said Nicra-7 representatives. The company also expressed its satisfaction with the construction of the new vessel, and made clear its intent to seek out more services from Zamakona Shipyard on future vessels attributable to “the degree of cooperation and the quality of construction received” with respect to Guria.
