Romoy Forbes, 31, of Deer Park, New York, U.S.A., was indicted recently in Boston, Massachusetts, U.S.A. for allegedly conspiring to steal hundreds of thousands of dollars’ worth of cargo and sell the items for illicit profit.

According to a release by the U.S. Attorney’s Office District of Massachusetts, Forbes allegedly stole cargo containing over USD 800,000 (EUR 682,880) worth of beer, snow crabs, blueberries, and cologne.

“The charge of interstate transportation of stolen goods provides for a sentence of up to 10 years in prison, three years of supervised release, and a fine of up to USD 250,000 (EUR 213,275),” a release by the District Attorney of Massachusetts said. The charge of conspiracy to commit that offense carries a sentence of up to five years in prison, up to three years of supervised release, and a fine of up to USD 250,000 (EUR 213,275).

Forbes was arrested in February, when law enforcement intercepted stolen goods such as beer worth approximately USD 35,200 (EUR 30,048.8), over 33,000 pounds of snow crab worth USD 325,000 (EUR 277,439.5), multiple pallets of blueberries, and designer cologne worth approximately USD 430,000 (EUR 367,005). The U.S. District Attorney’s Office said Forbes is a Jamaican national living in the U.S. and has been indicted for interstate transportation of stolen goods as well as conspiracy to commit that offense.

Forbes worked with co-conspirators, the District Attorney’s Office added in the release, and the group was able to steal the goods by sending fraudulent emails to shippers posing as trucking carrier companies. Forbes and his conspirators allegedly arranged fraudulent drop-off and meet-up points with shipping companies and were able to steal the frozen snow crab from a storage warehouse in Worcester, Massachusetts, U.S.A. on 15 July 2025. The snow crab was intended to be delivered from a freight service company in Maine, U.S.A. to a customer in Jacksonville, Florida, U.S.A., but was intercepted by Forbes. Forbes was allegedly able to transport the shipment from Maine to Queens, New York, U.S.A.

Prior to the alleged snow crab heist, Forbes was charged with a 6 June 2025 interception of beer from a brewery in Newark, New Jersey, U.S.A. that was intended for a customer in Portland, Maine, U.S.A.; a 26 June 2025 alleged heist of blueberries from a storage business in Winslow Junction, New Jersey, U.S.A. intended for a freight service to travel from Maine to Illinois, U.S.A.; and a 25 July 2025 alleged conspiracy to steal cologne in Ronkonkoma, New York, U.S.A. that was to be delivered from Illinois to Los Angeles, California, U.S.A.

Forbes was arraigned in federal court on 7 April 2026, pleaded not guilty, and was released on conditions. The Federal Bureau of Investigations of Boston is assisting with this case.
