For the last week of December, export prices of fresh salmon came to NOK 33.11 (USD 5.90, EUR 4.53) per kilo — a 12 percent increase from the previous seven-day period.
According to data from Statistics Norway, export volume of fresh salmon however decreased 68.3 percent to 7,356 metric tons (MT) from 24 December to 30 December compared to the previous week. It was noted though, that the weeks which include Christmas and New Year’s normally show low export volumes.
Norway exported 158 MT of frozen salmon at NOK 29.81 (USD 5.31, EUR 4.08) per kilo in the period from 24 December to 30 December.
