Pakistan seafood export volume up 25 percent

The exports of fish and fish preparations increased by 5.68 percent during the first month of fiscal year 2014-15 as compared to the same month of last year.

According to the latest data released by Pakistan Bureau of Statistics (PBS), the fish exports during July 2014-15 were recorded at USD 21.3 million (EUR 16.1 million) against the exports of USD 20.1 million (EUR 15 million) in July 2013-14.

In terms of quantity, the seafood exports in July 2014 were recorded at 10,463 metric tons (MT) compared to the exports of 8,397 million MT in July 2013, showing increase of 24.6 percent.
