Royal Greenland, Agama partner

Royal Greenland is building a seafood packaging facility just outside of Moscow through a partnership with Russian frozen food giant Agama Group.

The plant will cook and pack shell-on coldwater shrimp for the growing Russian market and is expected to be up and running by 1 September.

Royal Greenland will be responsible for supplying the raw material and procuring and installing the processing equipment, while Agama will provide distribution and cold storage. The plant will handle product for both companies as well as external companies, if capacity allows.

“At Royal Greenland, we expect that this joint venture will reinforce our position in the Russian market and create growth and development for our operations in Eastern Europe in general,” said Royal Greenland in a statement.
