Slider maker inks deal with U.S. Foodservice

Prime Star Group on Thursday announced that its Gourmet Fusion Seafood subsidiary has signed a national distribution agreement with U.S. Foodservice, one of the country’s largest foodservice distributors, with about USD 19 billion in annual revenue.

U.S. Foodservice is sell Gourmet Fusion’s lobster, shrimp and salmon sliders, initially targeting the Los Angeles and San Francisco areas. U.S. Foodservice’s Sand Diego branch was the first to sample the seafood sliders, and the response was positive. Gourmet Fusion is also testing its seafood sliders in the Las Vegas and Reno, Nev., areas.

“The Gourmet Fusion team could not be more pleased. From sales to production, shipping to payment, we are firing on all cylinders,” said Jerry Ludeman, the company’s president.

Gourmet Fusion retained chef Brian Thompson to help create the seafood sliders. “We are excited about our National Distribution relationship with U.S. Foodservice,” he said. “With the launch of our slider products and excellent distributors like U.S. Foodservice, we can supply quality foods to quality clients. These ‘crab-cake like’ medallions make great slider sandwiches, and are also great on salads, appetizers and numerous creative entrées.”

The company uses wild-caught Maine lobster, Gulf shrimp and Pacific salmon in its sliders.
