Thai Union Frozen Products today reported 2008 sales of THB 69 billion (USD 2.1 billion, EUR 1.5 billion), compared to THB 55.5 billion (USD 1.6 billion, EUR 1.2 billion) in 2007.
The company also posted its second highest net profit ever, reaching THB 2.2 billion (USD 61,700, EUR 48,200), compared to THB 2.28 billion (USD 64,000, EUR 49,900) in 2003.
"The results are satisfactory. We achieved the annualized sales target of $2 billion, despite may risk factors like oil prices, foreign exchange, raw material shortage and the economic slowdown at home and overseas, as well as trade barriers. Still, our sales grew due to adjustments to market conditions," said Thai Union CEO Thirapong Chansiri in a statement.
Our next target is to achieve sales of $3 billion in the next four years," he added. "That means an average growth rate of 12 percent per year."
