Zombie Worms
Called Osedax in scientific circles, which directly translates to mean “bone-eating,” zombie worms love to munch on whale carcasses sunken to the ocean floor. The species secretes an acid from its body that dissolves the tissues, and then undergoes symbiosis and employs its plume-like gills to absorb nutrients.
