Top executive steps down from Pacific Andes post

Storied seafood executive Joo Siang Ng has stepped down from his seat as the vice chairman and managing director of Pacific Andes International Holdings, effective immediately.

The company announced Joo Siang Ng’s departure on 15 December, noting that Jessie Puay Yee Ng assumed the role of managing director one day prior. A longtime presence within the Pacific Andes enterprise since 1993 – and serving as the company’s chairman starting in 2007 – Joo Siang Ng will stay on with the corporation as an advisor.

"Mr. Ng will continue to act as adviser to the company, providing the benefit of his long-term expertise and experience to the board and senior management," said Pacific Andes representatives.

Pacific Andes confirmed that Joo Siang Ng’s departure fits into the company’s long-term succession plan, and will allow Jessie Puay Yee Ng to further her career experience within the enterprise; Jessie Ng directs various subsidiaries for the group, having joined the group in 1995 and taking over as its executive director in 2001.

To pursue other personal commitments, former executive director Teh Hong Eng has also resigned from Pacific Andes. As a result, Ng will no longer serve as an alternated executive director in Eng’s absence. Moreover, China Fishery director Chan Tak Hei will also cease to be an alternate director to Pacific Andes executive director Ng Joo Kwee.
