After Greenpeace released a video attacking the canned tuna industry on Monday, the “Big 3” canned tuna brands — Bumble Bee, Chicken of the Sea and StarKist — slapped the environmental group with cease-and-desist orders.
In addition, Tuna for Tomorrow released its own video, countering statements made by Greenpeace and to provide positive news about the canned tuna industry.
“If Greenpeace bullies grocers, retailers and fishermen into making changes like these, then millions of families won’t be able to afford canned tuna anymore. But there is another way. America’s tuna companies are acutely interested in the health of the world’s tuna stocks. It’s ridiculous to think that we would jeopardize the future of the very fish we’ve built our business on,” said Tuna for Tomorrow.
