Despite the soaring cost of crab over the past two years, Red Lobster is not shying away from the shellfish.
As part of the Orlando, Florida, U.S.A.-based chain’s annual Crabfest promotion, Red Lobster added several new dishes featuring king crab, snow crab, and Dungeness crab.
All the crab is wild-caught, traceable, sustainable and responsibly-sourced by suppliers “who understand the importance of maintaining healthy crab populations, now and for generations,” Red Lobster said in a press release.
Its new Crabfest Combo features more than a pound of jumbo snow crab legs and Dungeness crab, served with the customer’s choice of side.
Red Lobster also rolled out a new Crab-Topped Stuffed Shrimp and Salmon dish, which is crab topped seafood-stuffed shrimp finished with a citrus-and-herb beurre blanc, paired with fresh Atlantic salmon. It is served with rice and choice of side.
Another new dish is Crab-Topped Tilapia, which is crab topped seafood-stuffed tilapia, roasted and finished with a citrus-and-herb beurre blanc. It is served with a choice of two sides.
Meanwhile, Red Lobster is bringing back dishes from previous Crabfest promotions, including Crab Lover’s Dream, which includes snow crab legs and king crab legs, paired with Red Lobster’s signature Crab Linguini Alfredo. Also returning is the Crabfest Ultimate Surf &Turf, which is crab topped seafood-stuffed shrimp finished with a citrus-and-herb beurre blanc, and paired with a wood-grilled sirloin steak. That dish is served with mashed potatoes and choice of side.
“During Crabfest, our guests get the unique opportunity to explore a variety of different types of crab, all on one plate,” said Chef Dustin Hilinski, executive chef and director of culinary at Red Lobster, in the release. “Whether it’s freshly steamed jumbo snow crab legs, crab-topped seafood stuffed shrimp, or crab sautéed in a creamy pasta, Crabfest truly gives guests an opportunity to discover crab like never before.”
During Crabfest, Red Lobster is also celebrating the fishing boats and crews that help supply crab to its restaurants, including the Deadliest Catch fleet. Guests can toast the fleet with its new Rogue Wave cocktail, which is served in collectible Deadliest Catch glassware.
