The Seafood Expo Global and Seafood Processing Global event has returned to Brussels, Belgium for its 26th year, bringing thousands of seafood industry professionals to its doors for three days of business meetings, networking, product launches, and more.
With several exhibit halls to peruse, even the most gifted navigator could feasibly lose themselves in the shuffle of 1,946 exhibitors and even more attendees. Fortunately, the event's mobile app has been updated and is ready to serve as a compass of sorts for all smartphone-touting exposition visitors.
The app – designed by SEG organizer Diversified Communications, with the help of app producer Eventbase Technology – is optimized for both iOS and Android smartphone users attending SEG18 and SPG18 from 24 to 26 April. Free for all attendees of the event, the app can help address the following expo tasks:
- Search exhibitor lists, which include correlating booth numbers and locations
- Search SEG ‘Featured Products’ and ‘Featured Exhibitors’
- Bookmark and peruse the expo’s special events including the Seafood Excellence Global awards
- Access a map of each hall as well as the city of Brussels
- Connect to social media and share booth visits with online friends and business associates
- Consult basic SEG info, including show hours, news, FAQs, security updates, and more
Mobile device users can access and download the app on either iTunes or Google Play by searching “Seafood Expo” or “Seafood Expo Global.” Those who have the app downloaded from past editions of SEG or Seafood Expo North America (SENA), should delete and re-download the app if they run into issues updating.
New this year, the app’s comprehensive dashboard allows for easy navigation between several facets of your expo experience, including: Featured and New Products, Social Media, Activity Feed, Notes, Awards Competition, My Schedule, My Favorites, Expo Information, Quick List, Exhibitors, Featured Exhibitors, and more.
Attendees searching for a specific company can use the ‘Exhibitors’ and the ‘Featured Exhibitors’ tabs when the app is launched. Tapping on the exhibitor’s entry and then their booth number will provide you with directions and relevant contact information as well as a business description. Exhibitors can also be found using the app's overarching 'Search' feature.
Add all the companies you intend to visit to your ‘Favorites’ tabs to access the information quickly while on the go. If you’re a little lost, go to the ‘Maps’ tab to see an overview of the pavillion area and to tab through interactive maps of the sprawling exhibit halls. The ‘Expo Info’ tab has information regarding important locations, public transportation, hotel and travel, security updates, expo hours, and more. Use the "My Notes" section to type quick ideas or business specifications during your meetings and encouters at the exposition.
After downloading the app, begin engaging with organizers and exhibitors by filling out your profile, which can be accessed at the very top of the app window by tapping on the starred address card icon (second icon to the right, next to the "Home" button, which is illustrated with a house). Once you've entered your name, company, email, and relevant social media handles, you can interact with all of your colleagues directly through the app about the latest SEG/SPG happenings.
