Chilean salmon farmer’s new smoked salmon line aims to win at SENA17

Chilean salmon farming company Multiexport Foods is launching a new line of smoked products under the brand name Latitude 45, featuring 4-star Best Aquaculture Practices (BAP)-certified salmon smoked within 24 hours of leaving the water.

Products under the new Latitude 45 brand include traditional cold smoked salmon and Smoke Roasted Salmon Flakes encased in innovative MAP packaging. Latitude 45’s Smoke Roasted Salmon Flakes have been selected as a finalist for the Seafood Excellence Awards. Winners for the competition will be announced at this year’s Seafood Expo North America (SENA) in Boston on 19 March at 3 p.m.

Multiexport Foods, which is exhibiting at SENA17 at Booth #117, will be showcasing its Latitude 45 brand at the exposition. The brand, according to the company, “reflects Multiexports commitment to sustainable farming as well as the company’s uncompromising commitment to quality and its approach to processing and packaging.”

“The result of the industry-leading standards is not only great tasting smoked salmon but also smoked salmon that is consistently better quality,” the company added.

Salmon smoked and included in Latitude 45 is hand-selected, and premium, locally-sourced ingredients as well as traditional recipes are applied to the fish, resulting in the “highest-quality smoked salmon,” said Multiexport. What’s more, the MAP packaging used for the brand, which is new to the smoked salmon category, is developed with the goal of delivering easy-to-handle, ready-to-eat premium products. The company expects it to be well-received by its customer base.
