Valentines Day Roundup!

Valentine’s Day is Sunday and seafood is getting its share of the spotlight!

Lobster tails, as usual, dominate retail circulars all across the country - Albertson’sDominick’sWinn-Dixie  and countless others are promoting this traditional holiday staple for those opting to eat at home this year…

If you’re staying in and need recipes, you can find all kinds of Valentine’s Day themed help – check out Seafood and Angel Hair Pasta from Diane Rossen Worthington in the Pittsburgh Tribune.  Crab cakes and shrimp creole are featured in this piece from the Charlotte Observer

However, if you’re going out, there are plenty of seafood options as well! Ruby Tuesday’s Share the Love 3-course fixed price (19.99) Valentines menu includes seafood focused appetizers like Thai Poon Shrimp and a ton of entrees including Lobster New Orleans and Asian Glazed salmon.  Love the creative license of the “romantic shared dessert”…

Turner Fisheries in Boston is rolling out a sustainably packed seafood menu featuring Laughing Bird shrimp and Faroe Islands ocean trout.

Downtown Disney’s Fulton’s Crab House is sweetening the pot with an opportunity to win a pearl necklace…okay pearls aren’t exactly seafood, but you get the idea.

On the internet, Epicurious gets into the act with a great piece on aphrodisiacs (did I miss the oysters?) that highlights a variety of sexy ingredients – check out the striped bass with saffron vegetables).
Feel free to post other great Valentine’s Day promotions here – hope you are all taking advantage of this great holiday!
