More than 26,000 attendees, 1,650 exhibiting companies expected for Seafood Expo Global

Diversified Communications, which produces Seafood Expo Global/Seafood Processing Global, announced Monday, 4 April its expectations for attendance at this year’s show, which will take place 26 to 28 April in Brussels, Belgium.

According to Liz Plizga, group vice president at Diversified, more than 1,650 companies from 70 countries are scheduled to take part in the exposition this April. New exhibiting countries represented at this year’s exposition include Barbados, Seychelles, Tanzania and Uganda, and new country and regional pavilions from Finland, Russia, Scotland and Uruguay.

While some companies have decided not to attend this year’s show following the bombings in Brussels on 22 March, the combined withdrawals currently represent three percent of the total exhibition space at the expo, according to Plizga.

“Companies will need to make individual decisions and we respect their choice if they choose to no longer join us for the 2016 edition. The current condition in Brussels definitely has had an impact on everyone’s decisions to come to the city and the exposition. Every day we receive comments and feedback from exhibitors expressing their concerns about the situation and others showing their support,” Plizga said. “Our customers have placed a lot of trust in us to deliver an important business tool on the global stage in a safe environment, and that’s what we are focusing on.”

Plizga said Diversified Communications is working closely with Brussels Expo and the city of Brussels to deliver a safe event.
