Young’s introduces marinades to its Gastro brand at SEG

Young’s Seafood has introduced a line of marinades to its fast-growing Gastro brand, making the announcement in anticipation of Seafood Expo Global in Brussels, Belgium from 26 to 28 April.

The marinades all contain two basa fillets and come in chili, Cajun and lemon and herb varieties. All carry a suggested retail price of GBP 3 (USD 4.37, EUR 3.87). Initially, they will be available in Sainbury’s and Waitrose stores in the United Kingdom.

Young’s Marketing Director Yvonne Adam said the fillets are “quick and easy” to prepare and cook in the oven or microwave.

“Inspired by restaurant menus, Gastro marinades will add even more choice within the Gastro range,” Adam said.

The three new marinade options join two other recently introduced products from Young’s – the smoky paprika tempura-battered fillets and sea salt and balsamic vinegar fillets, both of which retail for GBP 4 (USD 5.83, EUR 5.16).

Young Seafood’s Gastro brand is worth more than GBP 54 million (USD 78.6 million, EUR 69.6 million), having grown 42 percent in the 42 weeks, according to the company.
