In light of the recent attention on species substitution, mislabeling and other forms of seafood fraud, SeafoodSource on 27 October hosted a 90-minute webinar spotlighting the growing role of DNA analysis in seafood species identification.
The webinar featured three presenters: Edward Diehl, director of business development at ACGT Inc. in Wheeling, Ill.; LeeAnn Applewhite, CEO of Applied Food Technologies in Alachua, Fla. (Ah-latch-you-ay); and William Gergits, managing member of Therion International in Saratoga Springs, N.Y. Each gave a 10-minute presentation and answered questions from a moderator and the audience.
