A Tasmanian salmon producer wants to build an AUD 11 million (USD 10 million, EUR 7.3 million) fish waste processing plant on the state's east coast.
Tassal is proposing to build and operate the facility at a site on the Tasman Highway, north of Triabunna.
It would process up to 20,000 metric tons of fish by-products a year, producing fish protein and oil products.
