Cermaq unloads Lighthouse Caledonia shares

Aquaculture giant Cermaq ASA on Tuesday announced that it sold its remaining stake in Lighthouse Caledonia ASA.

The Norwegian company unloaded 250 million shares of the Scottish farmed salmon producer to Northern Link Ltd. for NOK 63.75 million (USD 10.92 million, EUR 7.38 million); the 250 million shares accounted for 14.2 percent of Lighthouse Caledonia shares.

The announcement comes about seven months after Cermaq invested NOK 25 million (USD 3.6 million, EUR 2.8 million) in new shares in Lighthouse Caledonia as part of a private placement.

Also on Wednesday, Cermaq appointed Tore Valderhaug as its CFO, effective 1 November. Valderhaug replaces Steven Rafferty, who is now COO of Cermaq’s global farming division. Valderhaug will report to CEO Geir Isaksen and be part of Cermaq’s central management team, headquartered in Oslo.
