Bíldudalur, Iceland-based aquaculture firm Arnarlax has signed an agreement with aquaculture technology company Wisefish to implement the company's logisitics platform into its fish-farming operations.
The Wisefish platform is intended to unite the sales and logistics teams of an aquaculture operation, allowing team members to communicate instantly and transparently, as well as to make efficient use of automation.
The agreement was made, Wisefish said in a release, as the Icelandic aquaculture sector increasingly embraces such digital tools.
“Implementing the Wisefish sales and logistics solution is an important step in further connecting our value chain,” Arnarlax CEO Linda Gunnlaugsdóttir said. “When farming and selling fresh salmon, efficiency and transparency are essential. Having real-time access to reliable operational data is critical for sales and logistics, and Wisefish stood out because it allows us to bring several processes together in one system, giving us clearer insight into farming and harvesting and a more coordinated operation in the fast-moving environment of sales.”
In the same release, Wisefish CEO Yngvi Halldórsson stressed “the growing role of integrated systems in supporting efficiency and data-driven decision-making in the Icelandic aquaculture sector.”
Halldórsson added that the complexity and scale at which Arnalax works “makes this a strong fit, and we look forward to working closely with their team.”
Arnarlax is owned by Icelandic Salmon, which is also based in Bíldudalur.
