Scottish salmon farmer earns hat-trick of awards

The Scottish Salmon Company (SSC) won three categories at the Highlands and Islands Food and Drink Awards (HIFAD), held last week in Inverness.

Having posted record results, grown its exports to almost 70 percent of turnover, and also launched its Lochlander Salmon into North America over the past year, SSC picked up the three awards in the Business Growth, Export, and Marketing categories.

“Exports have been fundamental to our business growth so it is fitting that we have been recognized in these categories,” SSC Chief Executive Craig Anderson said. “The Highlands and Islands are integral to our heritage and our brands, and we are proud to be a major employer in the area, creating and, most importantly, retaining value within the rural economy. These awards are testament to the hard work and commitment of our team.”

SSC employs more than 650 people across 60 sites along the west coast of Scotland and Hebrides.
