Tasmanian salmon producer Tassal has reaped a grant of AUD 3.85 million (USD 3.6 million, EUR 2.7 million) to produce a fishmeal plant on farmland near Triabunna.
The facility will be located about 4 kilometers northeast of Triabunna on the Tasman Highway and will process 20,000 metric tons of fish by-product per year.
Federal MP Eric Hutchinson announced the government funding at the site of the development.
