Knut Nesse has been appointed CEO of the AKVA Group on a permanent basis, the company’s board of directors has confirmed.
Nesse joined the board in May 2019 and served as the chairperson from 16 August until he was appointed as interim CEO on 4 November, following the resignation of Hallvard Muri.
Nesse is the former CEO of Skretting and Nutreco, and is currently serving as the managing director of the Seafood Business for Ocean Stewardship (SeaBOS). He left Nutreco in June 2018 after 23 years at the Netherlands-based company in order to return to his native Norway with his family.
The Bryne, Rogaland, Norway-basedAKVA Group provides technical solutions and service to both net-pen and land-based aquaculture operations. It has offices in Norway, Chile, Denmark, Scotland, Spain, Greece, Iran, Iceland, Canada, Australia, and Turkey.
