Florida, U.S.A.-based seafood supplier Bonamar is looking to industry veteran Stutts Armstrong, formerly of Icicle Seafoods and Vita Food Products, to steer its retail efforts in traditional wholesale and e-commerce channels in the United States as the company’s new vice president of retail business.
Armstrong, who has more than 30 years of seafood experience, comes to Bonamar most recently from Chile's Multiexport Foods, where he was hired in March as director of the company’s smoked and value-added business, with a focus on the Latitude 45 smoked salmon brand.
As the vice president of retail business for Bonamar, Armstrong’s “vast product knowledge and skill-set … will be instrumental to this business channel and its continued future growth,” the premium crabmeat supplier said in a 14 May press release announcing the hire.
Bonamar is a minority- and family-owned business, specializing in the import and distribution of premium crabmeat and finfish, with a focus on value-added seafood products for the retail, wholesale, and foodservice sectors. The company was responsible for launching the first nationally marketed line of Extended Safety crab meat products treated by irradiation into the United States.
