Chilean salmon farming company Camanchaca has named César Lago the president of its sales and marketing office in the United States, replacing Bert Bachmann, who is moving into a more strategic role with the company.
Lago is the current vice president of sales for Camanchaca, but will move into his new position on 1 July, the company told SeafoodSource.
"The change comes amidst a push to progressively diversify the supply of seafood,” Camanchaca said in a statement published on Aqua.cl. “Recently, this has meant supplementing supplies through agreements with other producers."
Having held his previous position since 2001, Bachmann will become director of strategic development in the U.S. for the company. In its announcement, the company praised Bachmann’s leadership in forming the Chilean Salmon Marketing Council, which jointly markets Chilean salmon to U.S. consumers.
