Icelandic seafood company HB Grandi has announced that Svavar Svavarsson, its head of business development, will retire by the end of 2018.
Svavarsson’s role will be taken up on 1 October by Torfi Thorsteinsson, head of the groundfish division. On the same date, Inga Jóna Friðgeirsdóttir will take charge of the company’s groundfish division.
Friðgeirsdóttir has been head of fish drying at HB Grandi since the merger with Laugafiskur ehf in the later part of 2013. Previously, she was the managing director of Laugafiskur from 2004 and managing director of Brim from 2007 to 2013.
