Young’s Seafood Ltd. has appointed Billy Storer as head of operations at its Humberstone Road site.

In the new role, Storer will take on responsibility for all manufacturing operations at Young’s Humberstone Road and Annan Port Street (Scampi) sites. He will also oversee the expansion of Humberstone Road as it becomes the company’s largest facility.

With more than 30 years experience across food and drink manufacturing, Storer joins Young’s from 2 Sisters Food Group where he was site director for its ready-to-eat and ready-to-cook plants in Derby. He previously held senior operational roles across Premier Foods, ABF, United Biscuits, Kraft Foods and Molson Coors.

In a statement, Young’s said the creation of the new role follows recent growth at its Humberstone and Annan sites.

Storer will report to Duncan McIntyre, group operations director.

“I’m pleased to announce that Billy Storer has joined Young’s Seafood Limited as head of operations at our Humberstone Road facility. Billy has a history of successfully implementing great customer service, process improvement and change management programs wherever he has worked. His extensive experience will be extremely valuable as we further develop this outstanding site and execute our long-term growth strategy,” said Bill Showalter, chief executive of Young’s.

The U.K. seafood supplier recently renewed a contract with sandwich and salad chain Pret a Manger and has seen its exports grow with increased distribution, new products and extensions to existing lines in the United States.
