York, Maine-based live lobster wholesaler Maine Coast has been named to the Inc. 5,000 list of fastest growing, privately-held companies in the United States.
Ranked at No. 2,749 on the list by the publication Inc., Maine Coast attributes its latest successes in part to its strategic growth and reinvestment strategy, which focuses on innovation, logistics and infrastructure, as well as employee professional development.
"We are thrilled by the recognition. Our growth is strategic; to grow at this rate, we are constantly reinvesting in our company," said Tom Adams, the company's owner and CEO.
Branding and targeting new markets has also helped the company generate an incredible growth rate, said Adams. The company's sales and marketing teams will be looking to continue tapping into new markets and growing Maine Coast’s customer bases by traveling to Hong Kong, Singapore, Thailand, and the United Arab Emirates this year.
