Maker of ERP software for seafood industry buys competitor

Computer Associates (CAI), a maker of enterprise resource planning (ERP) software for seafood processors and distributors, has acquired competitors MultiProcess Computer Corporation.

CAI, located in Smithfield, Rhode Island, is the developer of Seasoft ERP Software, which is in popular use by seafood processors and distributors. MultiProcess Computer Corporation, based in Windham, New Hampshire, owns and manages DataView, an enterprise archiving and retrieval system.

“The acquisition of MultiProcess Computer is part of CAI’s – and our investment partners’ – plan to grow the company through strategic acquisition wherever it can enhance our core product and service offerings,” CAI Director of Marketing Tom Spillane said in an email to SeafoodSource. “The transaction adds considerable value to our Seasoft ERP solution and better positions us to deliver solutions that drive cost reduction and improved efficiency for our clients.”

The transaction closed on 7 June, 2017. Financial terms of the transaction were not disclosed.
