Santa Monica Seafood has appointed James Nissenberg as its new senior director of logistics, the California-based company's president and CEO Roger O’Brien announced on 17 July.
Nissenberg will oversee Santa Monica Seafood’s logistics department, including freight activity across all of the company’s locations; its fleet program, which involves approximately 75 trucks and 95 drivers; and all other transportation support employees spread out across six separate locations.
A University of California, Los Angeles graduate with a master's degree in transportation from MIT, Nissenberg comes to the company with more than 15 years of transportation and supply chain experience in a number of industries, including grocery and food. Nissenberg has also completed a series of professional development courses in systems and managerial finance, and is a Certified Supply Chain Professional.
“Hiring James fills the only open position we’ve had in our management team and provides us a person with the knowledge and experience to provide leadership and strategic advice to implement our transportation and fleet strategy,” O’Brien said.
