Bellingham, Washington, U.S.A.-based Trans-Ocean Products has picked Norwell, Massachusetts, U.S.A.-based Tryangle Foods as its broker of the year for 2022.
Trans-Ocean, which it said produces the top-selling retail brand of surimi seafood in the U.S., chose the broker for its “exceptional results” in 2022 in the New England market area. Tryangle increased both its retail dollar sales and unit sales of Trans-Ocean’s Crab Classic and Seafood Snacker brand products “at all accounts in New England.”
“We have worked with Tryangle for many years and they continue to exceed our expectations in the New England region,” Trans-Ocean Products North American Retail Sales Manager David Borowski said. “It’s a true partnership; We consider Tryangle an extension of our business development team.”
Trans-Ocean said Tryangle delivered “consistently outstanding” service across all levels of the business, from the headquarter to retail levels. The broker’s strong performance helped to expand its market share in the surimi category across the U.S. Northeast, Trans-Ocean said.
“We really enjoy working with Tryangle and appreciate the group that works on our business, which includes Michael Croatti, Al Salvati, Brian Santos, Bill Lorenzetti and, especially, the customer service team,” Trans-Ocean Products’ Business Development Manager Tacks Call said. “We look forward to continuing our strong partnership with them for many years to come.”
Trans-Ocean produces a number of surimi-based seafood products, under the Crab Classic, Simply Surimi, Jaiba Supremo, and Seafood Snackers brand names. The company revamped its packaging at Seafood Expo North America, and saw a strong sales increase of 11 percent in 2022 – buoyed by the 3.2 percent increase in sales across the surimi category for the 52 weeks ending 1 January, 2023.
