The discussion will serve as the opening session of the Sustainable Ocean Summit in Belfast, Northern Ireland, from 15 to 17 June, 2010.

The discussion aims to identify the needs and opportunities for industry leadership and collaboration on ocean stewardship issues.

Organized by the World Ocean Council, the summit’s theme this year is “Reducing Risk, Increasing Sustainability: Solutions Through Collaboration.”

Other confirmed participants include directors and senior managers from the International Association of Oil and Gas Producers, International Chamber of Shipping, International Association of Independent Tanker Owners, Nautical Institute, International Ship Managers Association, International Union of Marine Insurance and International Salvage Union. More industry associations are anticipated to participate.
