Goerlich Pharma supplements retain Friend of the Sea eco-label

German supplements manufacturer Goerlich Pharma GmbH has been re-certified according to the Friend of the Sea sustainability standard.

Founded in Edling in 1984, Goerlich uses seafood-based ingredients to create a range of supplements and other products, comprising hard and soft capsules, tablets, chewable capsules, sticks, and oil mixtures. It is also a distributor for Epax’s marine omega-3 concentrates and BioPlus’s algal oil and DHA powder in Germany, Austria, and Switzerland.

Goerlich has been certified by Friend of the Sea since 2013.

“It’s been an honor and a pleasure to work with Goerlich Pharma for so many years,” said Paolo Bray, director of Friend of the Sea. “Their attention to sustainability highlights the need to inform consumers about marine life that shows up in nutritional products. When it says that a product contains fish oil, people don’t always realize that at some point in the manufacturing process, there was an actual fish involved. Their certification is educational in this regard.”
